Community BioBlitz

August 11 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

A BioBlitz is a community effort to document as many species as possible in a designated location and time period. Over the course of 24 hours, local plant an animal experts will be working to find, photograph, and identify the variety of life within our park. The data collected will become part of the Maryland Biodiversity Project and will provide valuable information about the biodiversity in our area.

The great news is that you don’t have to be an expert to participate! Adults and children (ages 4 and up) are invited to become citizen scientists – we need you to help us learn about life in our park.  Join a pond study or bird walk, bring your camera or smartphone, and contribute to statewide efforts to understand our wildlife!

Please register here if you are interested, and select the specific activities you plan to attend. As the date approaches, we will send you more specific details to the email address you use to register.
